Escape stairs are utilised with both prescriptive ADB and mechanical smoke extract systems.
They provide a smoke free egress route for occupants and access for fire-fighting personnel via a 0.7sq/m aerodynamic EN12101-2 compliant NSHEV. The AOV also provides replacement inlet air to assist both natural and mechanical smoke extract systems.
