£4500 raised for Live Life Give Life

During 2017, every opportunity was taken by the staff of SE Controls to raise money for LLGL through a diverse range of activities and initiatives including a company golf competition, Easter egg decoration and Halloween pumpkin carving competitions together with a Christmas jumper day and a sponsored 10 kilometre run. 

The fundraising initiatives were co-ordinated by Louise Collet, who works as a Support Services Administrator with SE Controls and whose sister Rachel Prosser was supported by the charity during her treatment for Leukaemia and subsequent lung transplant.

Group Managing Director of SE Controls, Will Perkins, presented the cheque to Rachel at one of the company’s quarterly staff forum events, which was attended by UK employees. After thanking everyone for their commitment and support, Rachel went on to explain the importance of the donation. She said: “LLGL provides support not only to the transplant recipients, but also their families during what is usually a very difficult time. The charity’s work in encouraging people to join the organ donation register is essential to remove the uncertainty surrounding donation consent and ultimately increase the number of transplants. This donation is a wonderful boost for the charity’s work.”

Will Perkins added: “It’s testament to the work of LLGL and Rachel's own determination, that she is here with us today to receive the cheque in person and I’m delighted that everyone has been able to get involved and play their part in raising such a high total in order to support this very worthwhile cause.”
