Loughborough University’s top MSc student wins SE Controls Prize

Loughborough University graduate, Nikoleta Kokaraki, has won the 2018 ‘SE Controls Prize.'

SE Controls, which specialises in smoke control, environmental ventilation and façade engineering solutions, created the award several years ago to reward outstanding performance on the course, which is accredited by both CIBSE and The Energy Institute.

The demanding MSc course, which is delivered by Loughborough’s School of Civil and Building Engineering, covers concept design, renewable energy technologies and energy consumption as well as advanced thermal, airflow and lighting modelling, to ensure students have a complete understanding of the principles and practice of low carbon design.

Will Perkins commented: “The quality of work, effort and commitment made by every student has once again been exceptional, but Nikoleta’s overall performance made her a very worthy winner. We’re delighted to have such a close relationship with the university’s School of Civil and Building Engineering especially as its world-class teaching and research facilities help support the future of building design and efficiency, as well as the needs of the industry and society.”
