SE Controls support their local charity rugby team, the ‘Cancer Bashers’ who play to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care. Now in their fifth year, the team recently took on Lichfield RUFC on the 7th of May.
The team captain commented “Despite a lot of hard graft from every single player and a “never give up” attitude that has been the hallmark of the squad for the last 5 years, Lichfield’s superiority was evident from the start, with the A team losing 65-10, while the B team lost 84-5. Despite Lichfield superiority, the Cancer Bashers did achieve four exceptional tries against a very strong defence.”
Man of the Match winners were: Andy Newcombe (A team) and Armin Memarzadeh (B team), both for overall effort around the pitch for the entire game.
The main point of the day was enjoyment for all who took part, as usual all teams enjoyed exceptional post match festivities. Whilst raising awareness for Breast Cancer Care the teams also raised over £1,200 for the charity. Go back
