Smoke control, environmental ventilation and façade engineering technologies are widely used solutions in building design and construction, but like all complex systems, they are reliant on the performance and quality of individual products and components.

The importance of this continues to be fully embraced by SE Controls, with ongoing commitment to product innovation, research, and development, enhancing the creation of a dedicated Innovation Centre in 2013 with a new Research and Development (R&D) Centre of Excellence completed in 2018.

With around £2 million already invested in the new product development (NPD) programme, the company’s focus is on creating the next generation of actuators and control solutions that incorporate smart technologies.

We achieve product excellence through investment into our R&D Centre of Excellence. The purpose-built facility at our Head Offices in Lichfield UK, has:

• Expanded our technical capabilities
• Improved manufacturing infrastructure
• Facilitated first principle design methodology
• Enabled knowledge-based engineering to deliver high-performing, reliable products
• In-House World-Class testing capability allows greater confidence in product suitability for the global built environment

We use first principle design methodology to manufacture tested, trusted products that can be relied upon on time and again.
