SE Controls’ employees get creative to raise £5,000 for cancer charities
26 January 2016
During 2015, every opportunity was taken by SE Controls staff to raise money for the charities by using numerous initiatives ranging from creative cake baking, ‘wear your favourite football team shirt’, a Hallowe’en Ghoul dress up day and a painful charity leg waxing, all of which were sponsored to raise cash.
The year long fundraising initiative was co-ordinated by two members of the SE Controls’ design and accounting departments, Becky Cotterill and Amie Deacon, who worked alongside all the company’s staff to keep the total growing, as this figure would be matched by the company to double the final amount.
“We have a long charitable association with several cancer charities, as the disease is indiscriminate and can affect anyone at any time, which causes immense distress and would be even worse if it wasn’t for the fantastic efforts of Macmillan and Cancer Research UK, commented SE Controls’ MD, Will Perkins.”
He added: “Once again I’m extremely proud of the commitment made by everyone in the company who played their part in achieving such an excellent total, particularly the co-ordination efforts of Amie and Becky who helped keep us all motivated and on track.”
The final total of £5135.38, which combines the staff fund raising figure, as well as the matching donation from SE Controls, is being split 50 / 50 between the two charities.
