Atkins, the largest engineering consultancy firm in the UK and the biggest multidisciplinary consultancy in Europe, with architects designing the worlds tallest buildings, have called upon SE Controls to add their expertise to their natural ventilation requirements.
SE Controls, the Countries leading Natural Ventilation Company, has completed installing 324 SECO 15 230v actuators, set in tandem, to each top hung, open out window in the buildings external facade. This will provide natural ventilation and reduce CO2 build up on three floors of offices by networking the vent openers with the owners Building Management System.
Approached late in the project, SE Controls supplied, painted and fitted the motors in a very short lead time and completed within the building schedule. The actuators, fitted with pivot brackets, help maximise the opening dimensions with smaller stroke lengths to ensure the project was delivered to the specified budget.
Atkins is situated on Aztec West, the UK’s first US style Prestigious Business Park, providing more than 100 companies with Office blocks, Warehouses and Factory Units and employ over 7,000 people.
On the Aztec site are studios for Aardman Animations, famous for making the award winning Wallace and Gromit Claymations, the Four Star ‘Aztec Hotel’, a Starbucks and a Central Retail Park.
