Health & Safety Policy
This is the Statement of General Health and Safety Policy of under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
It is the policy of S E Controls, so far as is reasonably practicable, to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of all employees, contractors and visitors to the premises, and members of the public who may be affected by our activities.
More particularly that;
The provision and maintenance of plant, equipment and systems of work are safe and without risk to health,
The arrangements and precautions for handling, storage, transportation, use and disposal of articles and substances at work are safe and without risk to health,
Provision is made for necessary information, training and supervision of all employees so as to secure their health, safety and welfare at work,
The working environment, including means of access and egress, for all employees is safe and without risk to health, and that adequate facilities and arrangements are provided for the welfare of all employees,
Effective communication channels are encouraged and maintained throughout the organisation in order to promote all aspects of health, safety and welfare,
The policy is reviewed and updated when necessary following changes to personnel or work activities, and that monitoring of the management system ensure a program for continuous improvement of the system.
It shall be the responsibility of all employees at work;
To take reasonable steps to ensure the health and safety of themselves and others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work,
To co-operate with the organisation as far as is necessary to enable the employer to undertake or comply with any obligation, duty or requirement imposed by relevant statute.
Environmental Policy
S.E. Controls specialises in the design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and maintenance of smoke and natural ventilation systems, and as a pioneer in it’s sector the Company recognises it’s responsibility to ensure that the environmental impacts of the business are managed correctly.
The Company is committed to a policy of environmental management throughout all of it’s activities adopting the ‘EVABAT*’ principle to ensure that products are designed, manufactured and installed in such a way as to reduce any potential environmental impact.
S.E. Controls will ensure that these aims are achieved by;
Compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements,
Consideration of both local and global environmental impacts of the Company’s activities -demonstrating a commitment to pollution prevention,
Assessment in advance, wherever possible, of the environmental impacts of any significant new development, purchase of material or equipment and the adoption of any new processes or technology,
Reducing the use or resources (materials, fuel and energy) ensuring a reduction in wastage of scarce or non-renewable commodities,
Provision of the information necessary to enable the Company’s products to be properly used and maintained so as to avoid unacceptable impacts on the environment,
Encouragement of suppliers and contractors, wherever applicable, to adopt a policy of environmental management,
Using the principles of this policy as a framework for setting and reviewing environmental objectives and targets to achieve continual improvement in its environmental performance,
The provision of adequate resource for both internal and external education to all relevant personnel ensuring compliance with this policy and it’s aims.
