SE Controls was selected by the mechanical and electrical contractor to provide a fully integrated smoke control system due to their approach in providing the total solution for smoke and natural ventilation systems.
The Image development will provide private and affordable residential housing, commercial office space and retail to this sustainable new vibrant urban quarter of Hemel Hempstead.
Combining new build and restoration, Image features a 22-storey tower created by the dramatic transformation of the 20-storey Kodak building along with six new building
SE Controls smoke control solution will provide a natural smoke ventilation system to the one and two bedroom apartment’s of the development providing a healthier and safer environment for its occupants.
The smoke control strategy incorporates both means of escape and helps the fire service enter the fire on the affected floor by naturally ventilating the common lobby areas, corridors and escape stairs in the event of a fire
The proposed SHEVTEC® smoke control system incorporated automatic opening doors within the shafts of blocks B, C, D, E, F and G and smoke ventilation of the escape stairs within the applicable blocks.
The correct operation of the system was crucial for the system to operate according to the design strategy. The system was designed to operate on a floor by floor basis with all unaffected floors remaining closed.
Coordination of the specific site stages is a key element of SE Controls effective and proven project management. All projects are provided with a single point of contact (the Project Leader) throughout the duration of the project. Each project team has a dedicated project administration, coordination and installation resource at its disposal to ensure that each client receives the consistency and the highest levels of customer service and delivery to ensure that the project is delivered on time and to budget.
