Main photo for Natural Ventilation Strategy for Highbury College

The Building

SE Controls, after being recommended by window specialist, have installed and commissioned the window actuators for Highbury College. The college has some of the most sustainable buildings in Portsmouth at their modern college campus and wanted a natural ventilation system that was equally as green.

The Design

SE Controls’ SECO 20 chain actuators were specified for providing the activation of the automatic opening ventilators for the natural ventilation system. The SECO 20 chain actuators have a proven life expectancy and reliability in many window automation projects throughout the UK.
In total 82 No. SECO 20 chain actuators were linked to the Building Management System to maintain the air quality and temperature in classrooms and communal areas.

The Benefits

The benefits of having the SECO 20 chain actuators is due to the low amperage, the college can significantly save costs due to the fixed hardware used in the control of the buildings learning and working environment, improving the internal comfort for occupants and efficiency of the ventilation system.
