SE Controls installed 38 TGCO 24 30 ED concealed actuators into of the external facade to provide cross ventilation within the 1st and 2nd floors.
The TGCO 24 30 ED concealed actuators were selected, due to the automatic opening vents being installed below 2.5m from the fixed floor level. At this height a finger trap issue was identified in accordance to BS EN 60335-2-103:2003. If an obstruction was placed in a closing vent, the TGCO 24 30 ED actuator would detect and stop and reopen a short way so that the obstruction can be removed without the risk of injury. The actuators are fully programmable to enable the adjustment of the opening and closing forces, speeds and the chain length can be adjusted via simple configuration.
The actuators will be controlled by a seven zone OS2 control panel, provided by SE Controls and interfaced with the BMS and operated via temperature sensors. A selection of automatic opening vents will be dedicated to smoke clearance on the 1st and 2nd floors within the external facade and can be manually reset via a Firemans Override Switch located on the 1st floor.
